An interesting analysis as ever 'dude.

The first epidemic that the US ever faced was Yellow Fever. Have a scan of the linked article. I wonder if this refers to the removal of Chinese assets in US cities? Many of the old American families made their money trading opium into China, and the end of the Yellow Fever outbreak mentioned in the first article (1822) corresponds roughly with the opium trade into China really taking off (1820+). This is when the serious bucks were made.
