I met a woman whose first job out of college was in marketing for one of the big makeup companies. It was incredibly competitive but one of the Golden tickets to moving up in the ranks was to have your suggestion to name the product chosen because the name evoked an emotion and attachment for the customer, hence profitability. Candy Apple and Glacier Ice are wildly different from Syrah and Midnight even though both pairs are red and blue. It is an interesting exercise to look around the room at things and name the colors as if you are trying to sell makeup - which I just did to write this paragraph. (And if you aren't into makeup, you can do house paint. I will admit I love the name of our house color which is called Storm. In the sun, it is blue, but on a cloudy day, it is more the gray-blue of storm clouds. Like I have two different houses.)

The scene in The Devil Weats Prada where she gets mocked for thinking the color is 'blue' and she gets schooled on how fashion colors come into season about two years prior to it being released to the masses as the 'new' thing I think is very real - probably the case in any industry where color is a consideration. I noticed that for the last few years, home decor was very gray - so much in fact, I started to call it Covid Gray. And given everything that has happened, part of me wonders if that was on purpose. Brown is coming back "in". Maybe your soil analogy of growth isn't too far off...

Human experience is really complicated, kind of like the colors black, white, and red in the saying "black and white and red all over." Life is full of opposites that work together, challenge each other, and help us learn.

Black and white often stand for opposites — like light and dark, right and wrong, or things that are certain and things that are uncertain. But life isn't always just one or the other. The truth is often somewhere in the middle, where we face tough choices, problems, and change the way we see things.

Red is a color with many meanings. It can stand for love, energy, and excitement, but it can also mean anger, danger, or trouble. Just like that, our emotions can be different — sometimes we're really passionate or upset, and other times we're gentle or sad. Our feelings guide what we do and how we connect with others and the world.

Human experience is complex because we mix all these things together: moments of clarity and confusion, love and loss, bravery and fear, happiness and sadness. Life isn't always simple. It's full of these opposites, and that's what makes us who we are.

People, much like colors, are diverse and multifaceted. Each person brings their unique hue to the world, contributing to a vibrant tapestry of experiences, perspectives, and personalities. Just as colors can mix and create new shades, people interact, influence one another, and form connections that enrich society in unexpected ways. Whether bright and bold, subtle and soft, or deep and complex, each individual adds their own distinct beauty to the overall picture of humanity.

And that's why an Actor (Jester) is a sacred art. Hmmm. Thinking aloud. What you described here is a covenant with some principality. The problem with that approach is that, as all things are, every contract needs its pay, and the price is a soul, I ( because nothing else has value ) , or a part of it. Still, its a natural thing to do, as, when you touch the outer space the first time, it terrifies. You NEED protection, or be very very good at hiding. Can a Human become strong to hold on *his own* out there? I don't know. Even starting a journey is an accomplishment on its own. Praise the Fool, friend of many, servant of none.

"What you described here is a covenant with some principality."

You got it!

A price MUST be paid. Equivalent Exchange and all that. There are two forms of "legal" tender to offer a Prince, such as the Prince of Air. Not all Principalities are bad, mind you. Most reject such unsavory covenants, as they were made to do. Some are just Fallen and know not what they do.

One price can be paid from within and one paid from without. You can sacrifice from another and be a thief, as do our current breed of Slave Masters, or you can sacrifice a part of your Self -- your "First Born." The more you carve your Soul up, the more Personas you can master, sure, but the less "You" you are. Eventually you become nothing more than a husk, a slave with no individuality and no ability to feel. In sacrificing your Self for the sake of power, you lose your Self to the Fallen Angels who retain their influence until they are forgotten by God.

There is the Proper Way.

Deny your Self, and so long as you make Covenants only with God and nothing else, eventually you will Be Like Unto God -- therefore worthy of the Inheritance. You will be among the Saints and Martyrs. Instead of sacrificing others or your Self, offer your Self up to God through service to others. When you relinquish the promise of power willingly, instead of coveting it, you return it to God. Rewards beyond your comprehension await the soul who sacrifices their Self for the Other out of Love. The likes of George Bailey learns of this.

There IS a right Way. In reality, it is the ONLY Way.

Everything else is a shortcut. Shortcuts lead to ruin. Always.

You can't buy your way into heaven by selling your brother into bondage.

That's the lesson of Cain and Abel. Cain offered his brother's blood to God when his harvest was not satisfactory, and the Earth wept. Cain's harvest was not satisfactory to God not because wheat is the lesser to the cattle Abel offered, but because Abel held nothing back in his offering. He raised his cattle(sheep) as though they were his own flesh and blood, and so they became his flesh and blood -- a worthy offering to God. Cain offered his surplus, which disappointed God. That is the lesson. Don't hoard the gifts of fortune God grants you. Rather, share them frugally and like the Parable of the Talents, you will be rewarded.

You can only come to God through Christ -- which is the Sole Substance of God, True Love, known as the Patron of Self-Sacrifice. Mercy Personified, the Child of Justice and Love. This is why Jesus was the only one who COULD pay the debt we owe God in our collective hubris. We can ONLY come to God through Him and His example.

Protection comes from Christ. Protection comes from heeding the Word. No shortcuts. No skipping any chapters. Rejoice! Do not despair. There are a surplus of Angels and Saints to emulate, as they all point towards the One True God. Demons point towards their own Fallen Selves.

Follow the example of the Angels, Saints, Martyrs, the Advocate, and of course the Christ. Let their Natural Virtues, found in the Flesh of the Earth, guide you and you will not be left as an orphan.
